Ahorn Magazine in their latest online issue has featured Patrick Romero and his series “Earthquake Weather…or Stranded in Los Angeles. Romero was born and raised in LA where he resides. This body of work is from his rediscovering of his home during a time of crisis and self anxiety.

I’m dont know much about Kelli as a person, I can only guess from the two places she has listed on her website where she has taught that she resides in Upstate New York, but I love the feeling which is portrayed in the photographs throughout her site. Liminal is her ongoing life project which I suggest checking out.

Gena Morgese is a young artist from Alaska whose work is of all mediums. I love how her series “5 dollar foot longs” came out, as well as “magazines” which you can find on her website which I strongly suggest visiting.

Pater Baker is an American Photographer who travels all around the globe, especially within the states, and documents what he see’s in quite a beautiful fashion. What I like most is how he creates a sort of negative space within his photos. Here’s a few photos which he shot while in Iceland.

Katy Grannan was born in Arlington, Massachusetts in 1969 and is an American portrait photographer. Her work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, was included in the 2004 Whitney Biennial, and is in public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

“Fuck it. Just point the camera at something you think is beautiful and push the button. The rest doesn’t matter.” is Christian Storms statement about the work on his website. And you can see his mentality at hand throughout his work. Christian’s photos have this simple sort of “America, what the fuck happened” look about them, which is what first caught my attention. Christian was raised in connecticut, schooled in the midwest, and now resides in the East Village of Manhattan where him and his work can only progress.

As well as having a sophisticated portfolio himself, Christian was Ryan McGinley’s first assistant and took part in Ryan’s annual roadtrip last year. Check the photos of his experience and the crew traveling accross the United States in his section “Lifes a Gas”

Mikaylah Bowman is a 20 year old photographer.

Corey Arnold is a photographer as well as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. You wont see him at exhibits or hanging out in the winter monthes, but you’ll see his existence thru photos of his life out to see aboard the F/V Rollo. His life long project “fish-work” which documents the commercial fishing lifestyle is his main focus, but I believe the rest of the work is just as powerful.

Nicole Lesser grew up in LA and always wanted to come to New York as a photographer. She attends Parsons school of Design and has worked for various photographers in NY and LA including Ryan Mcginley and Alex Prager. Her work is based upon her relationships with the subjects which she is photographing.

Alana Celii is a very well established photographer for only being twenty-three. She was brought up in Texas and now is attending Parsons School of Design. She has had her work shown in a few shows as well as magazines and is one of the curators of Fjord. I’d say thats a pretty good start so far into her career and for it to only launch itself further. Check out her website which is filled with lots of work and goodies.
